Dumb Don And The Four Guarantees

Publius has been building businesses for half a century.  At 20 minutes notice, a Fortune 100 company walked in the door of the first company he started and bought the place.  He’s since rebuilt companies worldwide, been a partner in four VCs and published six business books.  So, he knows a thing or two about what governments must do to ensure economic growth in an advanced economy.

As Publius wrote nearly a decade ago, for a nation to prosper, the state must guarantee business four things.

First, that we can move our goods more efficiently than any competing nation.

Second, that we can move our information more efficiently than any competing nation.

Third, that our labor force is the healthiest in the world.

Fourth, that our labor force is the best educated in the world.

But, The Four Guarantees must be designed to keep us ahead of the Information Cost-Velocity Curve (ICVC) where the cost of information is always falling and the velocity always increasing.  Fall off the ICVC like Sears and Kodak and you’re toast.  Moving goods in the railroad age is nothing like moving them in the Information Age.  Implementing the Guarantees must change on the ICVC.

Don Trump is so dumb that he doesn’t get any of this, elementary as it is to anyone in business.  Instead, he’s focused on his MAFA Movement:  Make America Fail Always.  Like him.

If Don was able to read and write, he would have understood Publius’ post and acted on it at speed.  He would have been reelected in a landslide in 2020 and today would be called Don The Great, not Dumb Don.

Since Publius published The Four Guarantees, the world has changed bigly.  But Don is still an illiterate bumpkin.

Here’s what’s coming next on the ICVC.  By the end of this decade, every device—think light bulbs—will be a data center at nano scale.  These will all have embedded blockchain-fired minibanks and will cross-communicate directly, like Apple AirTags, across hundreds of billions of devices worldwide, effectively fractalizing Cyberspace.

The net effect of embedding minibanks in devices that consume and/or generate electricity like light bulbs is that every asset on the planet will be uberized, creating real markets that generate a new fabric of real money—fungible tokens.  Think of all the world’s high rises and supertalls with their windows solarized to generate energy.  The money in this one market of cross-trading fractals alone will be staggering.  A property management revolution.

The numbers say that these new markets will be the largest in history.

If we can scale Cyberspace fractalization, therefore, America will be great for a very long time.  Instead, Dumb Don is imposing 18th century import taxes on the fast-coming 21st century world of Cyberspace Fractalization.  His MAFA policies flunked out over two centuries ago.  But, the dumb guy has no way of knowing this.

Had Dumb Don dropped MAFA when he ran for office the first time, he could have used the Four Guarantees and his presumed property management expertise to teach us how to scale Cyberspace fractalization profitably.  Today, the U.S. economy would be growing like crazy.  Didn’t happen.

Result:  we are entering the Nanoscale Data Center revolution as Dumb as Don.
